map

Bordeaux, the capital of Aquitaine, is situated 350 miles southwest of Paris. Made world famous by its fine wines Bordeaux offers many wine tasting opportunities.

Bordeaux is the west end of an excellent road network between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean and so is a favourite for French driving holidays whether you chose to stay in one of the many gites, or if its just a passing visit.

This is a region of vast countryside and includes Europe's largest forest 'Les Landes' as well as shimmering white beaches making the area perfect for camping holidays.

Aquitaine offers many outdoor activities and the number and quality of its golf courses has made it France's leading region for golfers. So remember when booking you hire car, either get one with a boot or leave the kids at home.
