Vieux Lyon:
Vieux Lyon was a run down area until the 1960s when the French government stepped in and saved this historic quarter, restoring the buildings that had become derelict over the years.
Musée des Tissus:
The Musee des Tissus is housed in the 1730 Palais de Villeroy. On exhibition are priceless fabrics from all over the world, spanning 2,000 years. The 15th- and 16th-century textiles embroidered with religious motifs are worth a look as are the 17th-century Persian carpets. One of the highlights is a brocaded satin peice embroidered with 150 colours for Queen Victoria.
