Chamoinx:

Skiers all over the world dream of resorts like Alpe d'Huez, Chamonix-Mont Blanc, Courchevel and the Trois Vallées, les 2 Alpes, Megève, la Plagne and Val d'Isère. Internationally famous resorts which symbolize exceptional skiing and prestige.

In the Rhône-Alpes region there are 180 resorts in fifteen mountain ranges, a successful combination of a sumptuous skiing area in exceptional surroundings with top of the range equipment and age-old, dynamic, local traditions.

Vieux Lyon:

Vieux Lyon was a run down area until the 1960s when the French government stepped in and saved this historic quarter, restoring the buildings that had become derelict over the years.

Musée des Tissus:

The Musee des Tissus is housed in the 1730 Palais de Villeroy. On exhibition are priceless fabrics from all over the world, spanning 2,000 years. The 15th- and 16th-century textiles embroidered with religious motifs are worth a look as are the 17th-century Persian carpets. One of the highlights is a brocaded satin peice embroidered with 150 colours for Queen Victoria.
